PUERTO MADRYNPuerto Madryn brings to life the best dreams of all travelers. It is an idyllic dream with an ecological message. A dream where animal and plant species live together in perfect harmony with the natural environment. Puerto Madryn is a natural reservoir for different animal species. In the whole area, including all the peninsulas, bays and capes along the coast, the visitor will be able to thrill to the view of a southern right whale, a killer whale, an elephant seal or different species of sea-lions. The calmness of the waters of the gulf and the weather conditions on the peninsula both draw the Southern Right Whale here every year to give birth to and educate their young before returning again to the ocean. This spectacular traffic of cetaceans may be admired from June through December, and it is so easy and safe to approach them that this activity has rapidly become popular with tourists worldwide, creating a thriving industry. Tourists are mostly Europeans, but have lately been joined by increasing numbers of North Americans. Another way of "discovering" Puerto Madryn is through its calm, clear waters. Tiny Golfo Nuevo seems to grow before the eyes of tourists who, by the boatload or catamaran, by sailboat or speedboat, travel along its coast to view its magnificent natural inhabitants. In short, this is a plethora of wonders that will intoxicate the traveler, fulfilling his wildest dreams, while imbuing him with the energy to pursue them again on the following day. |
